I'm so glad that the servers barely know how to speak English and know how to speak with it because I know this place is super authentic. My friend and I were still able to get the idea across via Google translate. I love all the herbs that they provide and the shrimp paste is a good "dank" level.

Another great Vietnamese noodle soup that is your usual pho. I love the thick chewy rice noodles! The soup base is pork broth and it's a bit thicker I think because it has corn starch added. Comes with pork knuckle, crab meatball, fish cake, quail eggs and dried shrimp. I've only had one item from the menu so far but I highly recommend giving this soup a try! Also order the fried donut on the side to dip in the soup! Service is reasonably fast and the interior is comfortable and casual.

Small shop inside a large parking area with bunch of empty spaces. There's seating for about 15-20ppl so it could be good for medium to small groups. It was not busy on a Saturday night with only 1-2 small groups dining in. Menu is limited but service was solid and really quick. Food came out in about 10min. 8/10 Bo Ne $ - Came out piping hot and sizzling on an iron pan. Steak did not look like much was actually so tender and seasoned well. Also came with pate, and egg, and one beef meat ball which were all average. Bread was warmed and toasted for a light crispy shell and soft white interior to soak up all the buttery juices (has a slight sweet taste). Also comes with a side vinegar salad to cut through the meaty dish. Overall a great combination and filling dinner but pricey for what it is. 8/10 Banh Canh Pork $ - Noodles were bouncy and well cooked, generous amounts of pork hock with additions of quail eggs and fried fish cake. Broth was different but still good for me. Usually it is a clear and light broth but their version is a thicker and heavier version. Still very flavorful and coats the noodles well. Would definitely come back for the cravings. 7/10 Viet Coffee - Just average overall, strong, slightly creamy but could be more, and sweet. Nothing bad or good to note.

Came here late in the evening and got an avocado smoothie and the bun long noodle soup (pork intestine, pork blood, etc), which had thin noodles and plenty of toppings. In fact, it was huge for the price ($15.50), and it definitely could've been two meals for me. The soup and noodles themselves wasn't particularly flavorful to me, but there were plenty of toppings. The avocado smoothie was lovely, very filling, and a reasonable price. Our group also got the egg rolls and spring rolls, which were both great as well. The food menu is fairly limited though, not much besides the items we ordered. On the other hand, they had a much larger drinks/smoothies menu. Parking was easy given it is in a large shared lot. Service was a tad questionable as the staff member barked Vietnamese at me when I walked in, and only changed to English when I gave back a blank stare... Also they got confused with some items that our group ordered (despite them writing it down) and had to come back and reconfirm what we ordered. All in all, my Vietnamese friend said it was authentic tasting, and the drinks and snacks were good. Good portion size, modern interior, nice hangout spot.

Came here a while back with the fiancé & I was first amazed by the amazing service. Yup, the service. We were seated quickly with big smiles, and got their top 2 recommendations, chao long heo with a plate of long, and Bo ne. We loved both! The chao long hit the spot & I've never been so happy to find authentic chao long outside of my parent's kitchen. Bo ne was also so good w a twist of sweet & tangy. Pricing was a bit on the expensive side, but it comes with quality.

Finally a restaurant that's not just rice plate or pho noodle soup! Their menu doesn't have a lot of item, which is great because they concentrate their effort to make good quality dishes. I had the Bo Ne which is the sizzling plate of beef, egg and pork pate. Their bread was super fresh and crispy!

If you're looking to try a new spot for the colder season, this a nice restaurant for porridge and soup! It's a pretty recently opened restaurant across Target on Capitol and on the quiet side with low staff, but they were friendly and the orders came out really quickly! My mom and I ordered the two most popular items, pork offal porridge and banh canh (not pictured). Although these dishes aren't super unique or standout-esque, they definitely feel homey and nostalgic if you've grown up eating a variety of porridges/congees and viet noodle soup. The pork offal soup is an acquired taste for first timers! In short, it's a mildly savory porridge with an assortment of meat and organs. Definitely a culture specific ingredient list, but don't knock it till you try it! If there's anything that might not be as tasty, it would be the liver's bitter taste and more chewy texture both of which are pretty standard in this cuisine. A really cozy porridge to try if you don't want a long wait. Lime, lots of bean sprouts, and a fish sauce rendition provided :) The banh canh included thick, bouncy noodles and a tangy soup which I really enjoyed because some banh canh noodles can fall apart easily and don't have a nice mouthfeel (too mushy). There were meatballs similar to the ones in Pho Kim Long's bun rieu, so melt-in-your-mouth and delicious! I'd love to order my own bowl of banh canh here next time.
